چکیده

Abstract Background Lateral augmentation (LA) of anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) aims to improve the anterolateral stability knee and patient functional outcomes while reducing complication rates. Despite growing evidence popularity, there have been no studies directly comparing main two methods LA; extra-articular tenodesis (LEAT) Anterolateral (ALLR). Aim To establish level I by assessing with minimum two-years follow-up investigating LEAT ALLR patient-reported outcome measures (PROM) post-operative complications. Method This is a systematic review meta-analysis conducted in accordance PRISMA guidelines. The primary investigators (AA/FS) on August 1st, 2022 undertook comprehensive electronic databases. Studies that met our inclusion criteria were selected. Results 14 included study total 2374 patients. 1273 patients (666 male, 607 female) 1101 (818 283 female). Statistically significant improved PROM found group for postoperative International Knee Documentation Committee Scores (MD 2.31; 95% CI: 0.54 – 4.09, P = 0.01), Tegner Activity score 0.79, 0.58 0.99, P<0.01), both 1.43, 0.33 2.52, 0.01) 4.07, 2.67 5.47, P<0.01) groups Lysholm scores. are associated reduced graft re-rupture risk stability. Conclusions LA PROM, stability, when compared iACLR. No differences between ALLR.

Anterolateral Meniscofemoral Ligament Associated with Ring-shaped Lateral Meniscus and Congenital Absence of Anterior Cruciate Ligament, Managed with Ligament Reconstruction

A 24 year old otherwise healthy male was presented with a chief complaint of giving way in the left knee. MRI reportedcomplete anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) tearing. Arthroscopy showed ACL agenesis, ring-shaped lateral meniscus, and an anomalous thick band extending from the anterior horn of the lateral meniscus to the intercondylar notch of thelateral femoral condyle, which...

Intra-articular Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction With Extra-articular Lateral Tenodesis of the Iliotibial Band

An increasing concern has been given to the rotation stability of the knee in the setting of an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) reconstruction. This growing interest stems from a better understanding of the rotational stability of the knee afforded by the identification of the anterolateral ligament. Previously, a residual abnormal pivot-shift test had been found after an anatomic single-band ...

The Role of Lateral Extra-articular Tenodesis in Primary Anterior Cruciate Ligament Reconstruction: A Systematic Review With Meta-analysis and Best-Evidence Synthesis

Background The role of lateral extra-articular tenodesis (LEAT) to augment primary anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction (ACLR) remains controversial. Purpose To determine whether the addition of LEAT to primary ACLR provides greater control of rotational laxity and improves clinical outcomes compared with ACLR alone and to assess the impact of early versus delayed ACLR. Study Design Sy...

Extra-Articular Lateral Tenodesis for Anterior Cruciate Ligament Deficient Knee: A Case Report

We present the case of an extra-articular lateral tenodesis for an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) deficient knee. A 46-year-old male patient sustained an ACL graft rupture after a motorcycle accident. He complained of rotational instability and giving-way episodes. His previous graft was fixed by an intra-articular femoral staple that was not possible to remove at the time of the ACL revision...
